Installing (Mellanox) Infiniband on HPC Server 2008
< Go Back
In some cases, installing a Mellanox Infiniband high-speed interconnect for application traffic on a Windows HPC Server 2008-based cluster is as easy as any other plug-and-play installation; in other cases, however, it is much more complex.
The "Installing (Mellanox) Infiniband on HPC Server 2008" white paper provides step-by-step guidance for the two main parts of the Mellanox Infiniband stack installation: installing the interconnect on the head node, and deploying the interconnect to the compute nodes of the cluster. The paper points out potential complications and offers advice for resolving these situations.
It is important to note that the guidance provided in this white paper is not official guidancethe documentation is based on the author's experience, and was developed with beta versions of the Windows HPC Server 2008 software.
