Overview of Event Tracing for Windows HPC Server 2008 Video
< Go Back
This video begins with an overview of the steps needed to create an event trace in Windows HPC Server 2008 using Jumpshot, a visualization tool for postmortem performance analysis of Message Passing Interface (MPI) application execution. Using a simple MPI program to demonstrate the process, the presenter begins with a section-by-section discussion of the applicable portions of the code; once this is complete, the program is then built and executed. The presenter than creates the trace, converts it to a file format that Jumpshot can read, and then displays the results. The video concludes with links to the Jumpshot tool and the Microsoft HPC Pack 2008, both of which are necessary to perform event tracing as described.
