HPC Basic Profile with Steven Newhouse
< Go Back
This video provides a brief introduction to a five-part series that describes and demonstrates the High-Performance Computing Basic Profile (HPCBP), a feature included in Windows HPC Server 2008 that lets users submit jobs from Java or Linux environments to Windows HPC Server 2008-based clusters.
The HPCBP is a proposed Open Grid Forum (OGF) interoperability specification for job submission and management between high-performance computing (HPC) systems, including batch job schedulers. It provides access to some of the Windows HPC Server 2008 core job submission functionality, and supports cross-platform interaction.
The video series provides in-depth information about HPCBP and the standards behind it. Find out how HPCBP is integrated into Windows HPC Server 2008, and how to access HPCBP through the Microsoft software development kit (SDK). Three examples that illustrate HPCBP functionality are also provided: submitting a simple job, submitting a job with file staging, and enabling a service-oriented architecture (SOA) session.
